Elliot Derrick Blair was born and raised in Orange County, California. He attended Service High School in Anaheim. After high school, Elliot attended California State University, Fullerton and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics. Following his graduation from college, he attended Loyola Law School in Los Angeles were he earned his Juris Doctor degree.

In 2017, Elliot got his dream job as a deputy public defender with the Orange County Public Defenders Office. Elliot was passionate about his work and embodied what it truly means to be a public defender. While he was passionate about all of his clients, he connected most with his juvenile clients. He often spent extra time with his “kids,” not only helping them with their court cases, but also mentoring and encouraging them. On January 14, 2023, Elliot was tragically killed in Rosarito, Mexico. His loss is greatly felt by all- family, friends, and those who knew him in the criminal justice system.
